It’s that time of year! Christmas is creeping up fast and it’s time to plan those office Christmas functions. Why not mix business with pleasure? We have a top tip for you: if you are hosting a meeting for a minimum of four hours, you can treat your staff to a lovely lunch whilst attending a meeting. This way it is considered tax exempt, rather than “staff entertaining”, at 50%.

Secret Santa
There are many free online platforms available that will enable your team members to draw a name for gift giving. The end of year function is the perfect time for the gift exchange.
Pass the Parcel
For an alternative option to Secret Santa, you can ask your team to each buy a gift and wrap it up plenty of times, for rounds of informal and fun Pass the Parcel
Quiz
If you have a larger team, split them into groups; or you can go solo. Before your end of year meeting, think up some fun questions to include, and add a personal touch. Questions could include real facts about staff like; “Who’s most polite on the phone?”; “What’s Frank’s son’s name?” Don’t be afraid to mix it up and make it fun, with questions no-one’s going to know the answer to, like, “What did Sam have for breakfast today?” Offer multi-choice as a means to get everyone engaged in the game. If that sounds too hard, go for a selection of trivia questions like a good old fashioned pub quiz.
Get Festive

Christmas Charades
split your team into groups and on each group’s turn, give them a selection of pre-prepared songs and movies, with a different one on each separate piece of paper, face down. Whichever group can get the most right in the shortest time wins! This one is great fun for office Christmas parties regardless of who wins – as your team acts out each clue, the game is priceless to watch. Just make sure before you begin, that everyone understands the same rules, or it could get ugly!
